PROFESSIONAL BIO

Reliable, detail oriented and professional. Mike enjoys the challenges that every project brings, whether it be new projects getting traction, wrapping up complicated design challenges, solving complex problems for clients, delving into interesting failure investigations, or reviewing others’ designs and reports for clarity. He favors straight-forward approaches with an eye toward execution and quality.

Mike has extensive knowledgeable in a wide breadth of structural analysis, such as reliability engineering, design with carbon-fiber reinforced polymers, structural optimization, anti-terrorism force protection, progressive collapse, finite elements, and dynamic analysis. He has completed extensive course work conducted by the entities responsible for writing and maintaining the government’s current standards on the implementation and applicability of anti-terrorism force protection and progressive collapse standards.

Mike has performed as lead engineer or project engineer on many challenging large and small design projects throughout the years. In 2018, Mike became a principal at ZFI. He is now responsible for setting the firm’s overall vision, setting project and client-related goals, making personnel decisions, and implementing training and design process decisions.
