Personable, enthusiastic, and creative. Mr. Sandburg thrives when solving complex problems. Colby joined the ZFI Engineering team in 2007 after completing his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. He loves to meet new people and enjoys being able to help those that don’t see a solution to their problems. 

He brings project management and engineering experience from various new and renovation projects in the commercial, healthcare, education, and government sectors. Additionally, he has been a project engineer on several investigations that determined the root cause of structural failures or serviceability concerns. 

Growing up in Oklahoma, his family was very entrepreneurial. Understanding the basics of business and his passion for efficiency has allowed his responsibilities to spread to the business operations of ZFI. Leading to him becoming a principal in 2018. Since becoming a principal, he has continued as a project manager, taking on marketing, financial, and information technology (IT) roles. Colby has taken a hands-on approach to streamline both the business and engineering processes for ZFI Engineering.
