The Kathryn Ann Meinders Digestive Health Institute is a two-story, 53,926-square-foot healthcare facility developed to provide Oklahoma residents with local access to specialized gastrointestinal treatment and clinical services previously unavailable within the region. Located adjacent to the main hospital campus, the facility consolidates clinical exam rooms, diagnostic labs, procedural suites, and specialty clinics to support collaboration between gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, oncologists, and hepatology specialists.
The project includes dedicated Hepatology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinics, onsite GI procedural rooms, a motility laboratory, patient education spaces, counseling areas, and a chapel.
Structurally, the facility utilizes a steel braced-frame system with open-web steel joists and steel beams at the roof level, along with composite steel beams and girders supporting the second floor. Square HSS steel columns provide primary vertical support. The ground floor consists of a concrete slab-on-grade, while the foundation system includes drilled shafts and reinforced concrete grade beams.
